Mackay has significant experience in building custom trailers for trailable yachts; and has built trailers for most of the trailer sailor brands commercially available in Australia. The uniqueness of each yacht, requires however that a custom design is completed so that the trailer meets the specific needs of the customer. Custom trailers need to be quoted individually.

Mackay builds trailers to support GVM loads up to 4,500 kg, and will accommodate a variety of different keels whether bulb, swing, fixed, wing or retractable. When required, split axle configurations will be utilised to accommodate keel requirements, and keep the yacht as low to the ground as possible. This is important both for safe towing dynamics, as well as ease of launch and retrieval.

Mackay utilises both roller and skids style supports depending on the ramp conditions to be used. The Mackay Y Series trailors have revolutionised the use of rollers to ensure ease of loading and retrieval even in difficult conditions.

Other features unique to Mackay include extendable drawbars, the use of specially designed tilt drawbars, and wide mesh walkways.
